Ich bin ja sonst etwas träger, aber als doch etwas umtriebigerer Internetnutzer muss ich hier mal um etwas Mithilfe werben. Es geht um eine Petition gegen das geplante Gesetz zur Sperrung von Internetseiten, diese Sperrung ist technisch fast komplett nutzlos und würde nur zur Abschreckung unerfahrener User dienen. Und die Kinderpornografie-Interessenten finden ihren Weg um die jetzt geplante Sperre so oder so ganz leicht herum. Aber das sind nur einige der Punkte die dagegen sprechen.

Solche oberflächlichen Äusserungen wie die von Herr Guttenberg “Das macht mich schon sehr betroffen, wenn pauschal der Eindruck entstehen sollte, dass es Menschen gibt, die sich gegen die Sperrung von kinderpornographischen Inhalten sträuben.” wären nicht entstanden wenn er auch nur diesen oben verlinkten Podcast gehört hätte (1h:56min Zeitinvestition gehören da schon dazu), dann wäre ein technisches Grundverständnis da, welches ihm selber die Nutzlosigkeit und den Tropfen auf den heißen Stein, der diese Aktion ist, verdeutlichen würde.

For the second time Django enthusiasts are meeting in Berlin on Wednesday, the 15th April, 2009 at 19:30. Find all the details here. And since I will be in Berlin this time, I just simply redeclare this to “Django/Dojo Stammtisch” instead of just “Django Stammtisch” :-). I hope all the djangoers are ok with that (I requested permission in #django-de). It just makes things easier to also meet some dojo people in Berlin. I will also have some cool new dojango stuff to show off!

Als mein Sohn mich letztens mal wieder ausfragte darüber was z.B. der Bär so frisst, musste ich gleich wieder an die beeindruckende Reportage Auf der Spur der Küstenwölfe denken, die ich eines Nachts mal wieder mit dem Laptop auf dem Schoß gesehen hatte. Eigentlich der gesamte Film, aber besonders die Ereignisse am Ende, sind atemberaubend.

Drei Jahre lang ist Gudrun Pflüger den Spuren der Wölfe in den schwer zugänglichen Regenwäldern British Columbias gefolgt. Filmemacher Richard Matthews begleitet die Biologin bei ihrer wissenschaftlichen Arbeit. Auf einer unbewohnten Insel entdeckt Pflüger ein Rudel Wölfe, dessen Sozialverhalten sie beobachten möchte. Dabei geschieht etwas Einmaliges.

Und ich verrat’ jetzt nicht was da passiert, obwohl man es auch in dem Blogartikel oben nachlesen kann, aber es lohnt sich das selbst anzuschauen.

Oh man, bin ich pissed. Gerade habe ich auf Frontal21 den Bericht “Spielen verboten!” gesehen.

Wenn Kinder spielen und toben, kann es laut werden. Vielerorts zu laut für die Nachbarn, die gegen die Betreiber von Kitas oder Spielplätzen klagen. Die Gerichte geben ihnen häufig recht, denn beim Lärmschutz wird zwischen Kinderlärm und Industrielärm kaum unterschieden. In der Folge müssen Kindergärten schließen oder die Kleinen dürfen nur noch zu bestimmten Zeiten und hinter Schallschutzmauern spielen.

Aus “Spielen verboten!”

Das kann echt nicht sein, da gibt es einige wenige Personen, die durch klagen über viiiiieeele andere entscheiden. Soll heissen, ein Nachbar klagt und dann müssen die Kinder(gärten) weg. Boah, ist das übel.
Und wahr ist wohl, Biergärten und Kirchen haben Ausnahmeregelungen aber für Kindergärten gibt es keine. Das ist heftig. Und wenn es dann mal hart auf hart kommt ziehen die Behörden den Schwanz ein und die Kläger und Richter lassen sich natürlich auch nicht interviewen. Man Deutschland …

Yesterday another one of my contributions found it’s way into dojo: dojox.widget.Rating. You can try out the always latest version online in the dojo archive. It’s quite a simple form widget, that allows you to click a star for rating an item. The number of stars and the styling can be adjusted via images and CSS.
If you want an even more flexible way to customize the stars you should look at what Tobi has to offer with his SVG generated stars, they come in many more flavors!

Mayflower had invited me to join their Barcamp last weekend - and it was awesome. Thank you a lot!!!
We had been a crowd of about 40 people all hacking all day long until deep at night, it was a great atmosphere and some very interesting projects had been made. I am sure some things will come up on the Mayflower blog soon, just keep watching!
I was mainly working on integrating the dojo.grid into the next version of Phprojekt and doing some ground work for a very flexible structure. And I have learned a lot more about dojo again. It’s just great!
Besides that I was advocating a lot for Python and Django especially :-), I just can’t hold back. But it’s hard to convert anyone there, since Mayflower is the biggest and best PHP service provider in Germany and the people there are really good in what they are doing! Though one came up to me and said “thank you for putting the Python book on the table” (which I did a while ago in the Mayflower office, just for fun).

I just found eye-fi via the Sitepen blog. Just mix wifi and a flash card and you got more spare time and less cables hanging around. Cool.

Yesterday we got to know that the current project is going to be terminated sooner than expected, unfortunately.
We were a great team, with really a perfect mixture of skills, perfect to fulfill all the tasks required, it was great fun, thanks Christian, Daniel, Manfred and Tobi.
Over the last couple of months we had been developing a very innovative Web2.0 project. The core technology we used were:
Django - “Django is a high-level Python Web framework that encourages rapid development and clean, pragmatic design.”
Dojo - “Dojo allows you to easily build dynamic capabilities into web pages and any other environment that supports JavaScript sanely.”
MySQL - “The best and the most used database in the world”

I played the role of the technical project manager and developer. I am very comfortable with the above mentioned technologies, like to design the system architecture, structure the work and implement. I just never want to loose touch to the newest technologies.

And now I am on the hunt for a new job, preferably as freelancer, but most important: it has to be innovative, interesting and leading edge technology, that’s where I feel best in. I am currently Munich based, but if you got something to offer at the East coast, New York or some other nice place I can be easily convinced :-).

Mmmh, I have included the Google Analytics code in this page on Friday I think, but still no result. It still tells me

And I am so curious to know what kind of traffic I got (almost none I guess, anyway). I don’t think the problem is that the http://wolfram.kriesing.de is just a redirect, because that is the URL Google only accepts (doesn’t allow http://wolfram.kriesing.de/blog). Waiting …

I am waiting for a highly-important, life-saving and world-changing E-Mail. So there is nothing more important than creating a Mail.app-rule that alarms me. The rule shall simply recognize certain words or senders. Ok, that was easy. The rule simply animates the icon down there in the dock, so it jumps up and down (cool about Mac OS X is that those icons also jump sideways in and out, when you have the dock on the side of the screen, overcoming gravitiy so easily, way cool!). Since I had turned off all the jumping icons a while ago, because my dock was getting to busy taming all those jumping icons and I got headaches from that, I will surely recognize the jumping icon now!

I have been waiting for about a day now. There it was. My pulse rose to 200 in not even a second! Where is the task switch key combination. Ah shit, gotta switch to the right desktop first. E-Mail I am coming …. Ok, got there, click the right inbox where the mail should be in. Got it. … So? What’s this? This is the highly important E-Mail? … Not really … The rule fired on an E-Mail from my mother, who was just wishing me luck. And she used the keywords of course too. Ok, pulse can lower down again! It’s all about knowing what you are doing. I am even building bugs when I am not programming, sad thing …

I was eagerly waiting for reading an article of my brother, that he might publish on a blog one day. Simply because I know that he is a great writer. But I rarely get the chance to read any of his stuff, simply because we don’t see each other very often and if we do we got other things to talk about.
But this one is just what I wanted. I am impressed! I can not say what it is, but it’s just fun to read and not boring it is kind of a story out of life, but also an adventure. Because I have no idea of what makes good writing, I can just say that I like it. A must read …
